Plant Description

Orange Coneflower starts the season as a mound of deep green foliage before erupting in midsummer with an a blanket of yellow-orange flowers with brown centers that persist from July through September. Thriving in full sun to light shade with moderate moisture, it spreads in well-mannered clumps and is easily divided when needed. Beyond its striking appearance, it is a valuable wildlife plant, supporting native bees, small butterflies, and moth caterpillars through the season before transitioning to a songbird favorite as its seed heads mature in fall.
