Plant Description
Butterfly Weed is a standout prairie perennial known for its vivid orange flowers and value to monarch butterflies. It prefers dry, well-drained soils and does not tolerate heavy, poorly drained sites. Because of its deep taproot, it resents transplanting once established. Cut stems back in early spring and avoid excessive watering.
